What is Angiplat 6.5 Capsule TR?

A nitrate medication used to treat and prevent angina (heart-related chest pain) by relaxing blood vessels, improving blood flow to the heart, and reducing workload.

Uses

✔ Angina (chest pain due to heart disease)
✔ Heart failure
✔ Coronary artery disease
✔ Hypertensive emergency
✔ Anal fissure (off-label use)

How to Take

• Dosage: As prescribed by your doctor.

• Form: Swallow whole—do not chew, crush, or break.

• Timing: With or without food, but at a fixed time daily.

• Missed Dose: Take ASAP, but skip if close to the next dose. Never double dose.

How It Works

Relaxes and widens blood vessels → improves blood/oxygen supply to the heart → reduces chest pain and heart strain.

Side Effects

• Common: Headache (may be severe), dizziness, lightheadedness, blurred vision, fast heartbeat, low blood pressure.

• Rare but serious: Severe hypotension, fainting.

• Tip: Stay hydrated, avoid alcohol, and rise slowly to prevent dizziness.

Safety Warnings

• 🚫 Avoid Alcohol: Can worsen side effects (low BP, dizziness, flushing).

• 🚫 Do NOT take with:

  • Pulmonary hypertension drugs (e.g., riociguat).

  • Erectile dysfunction medications (e.g., sildenafil) → risk of dangerous BP drop.

• ⚠️ Caution in:

  • Glaucoma or anemia (contraindicated).
