Generic Name: Azithromycin
Class: Macrolide antibiotic

Uses

Treats bacterial infections of:

• Respiratory tract (lungs, throat, sinuses)

• Ear, nose, skin, eyes

• Typhoid fever

• Sexually transmitted infections (e.g., gonorrhea)

Dosage & Administration

• How to take: Oral, as a whole tablet (do not crush/chew).

• Timing: Preferably 1 hour before or 2 hours after food.

• Important: Complete the full course, even if symptoms improve.

Side Effects (Usually mild and temporary)

• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea

• Abdominal pain, headache

Precautions & Warnings

• Avoid if: History of cholestatic jaundice/hepatic issues with azithromycin.

• Consult doctor before use if:
