Generic Name: Azithromycin
Type: Antibiotic (Macrolide class)

Uses

Treats bacterial infections of:

• Respiratory tract (lungs, throat, sinuses)

• Ear, nose, skin, eyes

• Typhoid fever

• Sexually transmitted infections (e.g., gonorrhea)

Dosage & Administration

• How to take: Oral, whole tablet (do not crush/chew).

• When to take: 1 hour before or 2 hours after food.

• Duration: Complete full course as prescribed, even if symptoms improve.

Side Effects (Usually mild & temporary)

• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea

• Stomach pain, headache

Precautions & Warnings

• Avoid if: History of azithromycin-induced liver problems.
