Generic Name: Clarithromycin
Class: Macrolide antibiotic
Uses
Treats bacterial infections, including:

Respiratory tract (lungs, throat, sinuses)

Ear, nose, skin infections

H. pylori (peptic ulcers)

MAC (in immunocompromised patients)
Dosage

Take orally, preferably 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.

Avoid antacids within 2 hours of dosing.

Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.
Side Effects
Common: Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, rash, taste changes.
Rare: Liver function abnormalities, insomnia.

Avoid alcohol (increases drowsiness/risk of side effects).
