How It Works:

Stimulates bone marrow to produce more red blood cells (erythropoiesis-stimulating agent/ESA).
Administration:

Given by a healthcare professional (do not self-administer).

Regular blood tests required to monitor hemoglobin, electrolytes (e.g., potassium), and blood cell counts.
Key Side Effects:

Common: Abdominal pain, high BP, rash, injection site pain, breathlessness, cough, swelling (edema).

Serious: Very high BP (severe headache, vision changes, seizures), blood clots (thromboembolism).
→ Stop medication and consult doctor immediately if these occur.
