Composition:
Donepezil + Memantine

Uses:
Treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer’s disease—improves memory, thinking, and daily functioning by regulating chemical messengers in the brain.

Dosage:

• Take once daily, with or without food (fixed time recommended).

• Swallow whole; do not crush/chew.

• Missed dose: Take ASAP; skip if close to next dose. Never double dose.

Mechanism:

• Donepezil: Cholinesterase inhibitor → boosts acetylcholine (memory-related chemical).

• Memantine: NMDA receptor blocker → regulates glutamate (prevents nerve overstimulation).

Side Effects:

• Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, fatigue, insomnia, muscle cramps.

• Precaution: Avoid driving/alertness tasks until effects are known. Stay hydrated.

Safety Advice:

• Alcohol: Unsafe (worsens dizziness/sedation).

• Pregnancy/Breastfeeding: Consult doctor (limited safety data).
