Composition
Gabapentin + Nortriptyline
Uses
Treatment of neuropathic pain (chronic nerve pain due to diabetes, shingles, spinal injury, etc.).
Mechanism of Action

Gabapentin (Alpha-2-delta ligand): Reduces pain signals by modulating calcium channels in nerves.

Nortriptyline (Tricyclic antidepressant): Increases serotonin & noradrenaline levels, blocking pain signals in the brain.
Dosage & Administration

Take once daily at night (or as prescribed), with or without food.

Swallow whole; do not crush/chew.

Do not stop suddenly—taper under medical supervision.
Side Effects

Common: Dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, weight gain, blurred vision, fatigue.

Serious (report to doctor): Mood changes (suicidal thoughts), difficulty urinating, irregular heartbeat, jaundice.
Precautions & Warnings

Avoid alcohol (increases drowsiness/dizziness).

Not safe for driving/operating machinery (impairs alertness).

Kidney/Liver Disease: Dose adjustment needed; avoid in severe liver disease.

Missed Dose
Take as soon as remembered. Skip if close to next dose. Do not double dose.
