Methimercazole 10 Tablet

Drug Class: Anti-thyroid agent
Used For: Treatment of hyperthyroidism (reduces thyroid hormone production).

Dosage & Administration:

• Take with or without food, as prescribed.

• Swallow whole; do not chew/crush.

• Consistent timing improves effectiveness.

• Do not stop abruptly without doctor’s advice.

Side Effects:

Common: Skin rash, nausea/vomiting, dizziness (vertigo), joint/muscle pain, hair loss, headache, drowsiness, taste changes.
→ Inform doctor if persistent/severe.

Precautions & Warnings:

• Pregnancy/Breastfeeding: Unsafe—may harm baby. Use only if absolutely necessary.

• Liver/Kidney Disease: Use with caution; dose adjustments may be needed. Regular liver tests advised.

• Alcohol: Safety unknown—consult doctor.

Missed Dose:

• Take ASAP if remembered. Skip if close to next dose; never double dose.
