Newtel-H 40 Tablet

Composition: Telmisartan (ARB) + Hydrochlorothiazide (diuretic).
Use: Treats hypertension when single therapy fails. Reduces heart attack/stroke risk.

Key Points:

• Dosage: Take once daily, with/without food, at a fixed time. Avoid bedtime doses (causes frequent urination).

• Benefits:

  • Telmisartan relaxes blood vessels.

  • Hydrochlorothiazide removes excess fluid, lowering BP.

• Side Effects: Dizziness, fatigue, nausea, low magnesium. Frequent urination is expected (not a side effect).

• Precautions:

  • Avoid alcohol (lowers BP further).

  • Unsafe in pregnancy/breastfeeding.

  • Caution in kidney/liver disease, diabetes (monitor BP/electrolytes).

  • Do not drive if dizzy.

  • Avoid potassium supplements/salt substitutes unless prescribed.

If Missed: Take ASAP, but skip if near next dose. Never double dose.
