Uses:

Treats/prevents epilepsy (seizures) (does not cure).

Also used for mania, migraine, trigeminal neuralgia.
Key Points:

Take regularly at the same time daily (with/without food).

Do not stop suddenly—may worsen seizures.

Side Effects: Nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, low sodium, blurred vision.

Serious: Skin rash (risk of Stevens-Johnson syndrome), suicidal thoughts, osteoporosis (long-term).
