Combination: Amlodipine + Hydrochlorothiazide
Use: Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and reduction of stroke/heart attack risk.

Key Points:

• Dosage: Take as prescribed, usually once daily (preferably morning). Swallow whole; with/without food.

• Lifestyle: Combine with low-salt diet, exercise, and adequate fluid intake (avoids dehydration).

Side Effects:

• Common: Ankle swelling, dizziness, headache, fatigue, nausea, palpitations, low potassium, increased uric acid.

• Rare: Extreme thirst, muscle weakness (report to doctor).

Warnings:

• Alcohol: Unsafe (may worsen dizziness/dehydration).

• Pregnancy/Breastfeeding: Avoid (potential harm to baby).

• Driving: Caution (may cause drowsiness/dizziness).

• Kidney/Liver Disease: Use under medical supervision (dose adjustment may be needed).

How It Works:

• Amlodipine (CCB): Relaxes blood vessels → improves blood flow.

• Hydrochlorothiazide (Diuretic): Removes excess salt/water → reduces blood volume.

Missed Dose?

Take ASAP, but skip if close to next dose. Never double dose.
