Product Description
Apixapil 2.5 Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Apixaban 2.5 mg. It belongs to the class of medicines known as direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) or Factor Xa inhibitors. It is commonly prescribed to prevent harmful blood clot formation and reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in eligible patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.
It is also used for the prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), particularly after certain hip or knee replacement surgeries, and may be prescribed to reduce the risk of recurrent blood clots after initial treatment, depending on the patient’s clinical condition.
Apixaban works by selectively inhibiting Factor Xa, an important clotting factor in the blood coagulation pathway. By reducing the blood’s ability to clot, Apixapil 2.5 Tablet helps lower the risk of serious complications associated with thrombosis while requiring careful medical supervision due to the increased risk of bleeding.
