Description
Product Description
Clavix Gold-40 Capsule contains Atorvastatin 40 mg, Clopidogrel 75 mg and Aspirin 75 mg in a single oral formulation. The three components contribute different effects that are useful in selected patients at risk of cardiovascular events.
Atorvastatin lowers LDL cholesterol by reducing cholesterol production in the liver. Clopidogrel and Aspirin both reduce platelet activation, making platelets less likely to form clumps that can contribute to arterial blood clots. The combination may be prescribed after certain heart-related events or procedures when both antiplatelet treatment and intensive lipid-lowering therapy are indicated.
Because this medicine affects blood clotting, treatment should not be started, stopped or changed without medical advice.
Uses
- Prevention of heart attack in appropriately selected patients.
- Reduction of the risk of clot-related cardiovascular events.
- Used in selected patients after certain coronary events or procedures when dual antiplatelet therapy is prescribed.
- Helps lower LDL cholesterol and other blood lipids as part of cardiovascular risk management.
- May be included in a treatment plan for patients with established coronary artery disease.
Key Benefits
- Combines two antiplatelet medicines with a cholesterol-lowering statin.
- Aspirin and Clopidogrel reduce platelet aggregation through different mechanisms.
- Atorvastatin helps lower LDL cholesterol.
- Addresses both thrombotic and lipid-related cardiovascular risk factors in one formulation.
- Convenient oral capsule for patients prescribed all three components together.
How to Use
- Take Clavix Gold-40 exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
- Swallow the capsule whole with water.
- It may be taken with or without food according to your doctor’s instructions.
- Take it consistently at the prescribed time.
- Do not stop Aspirin or Clopidogrel on your own, particularly after a coronary procedure, because interruption can increase the risk of clot formation.
- Do not take additional Aspirin, Clopidogrel or other blood-thinning medicines unless specifically advised.
- Inform your doctor before surgery, dental procedures or other invasive treatment.
How It Works
The three ingredients work on separate cardiovascular pathways. Aspirin irreversibly inhibits platelet cyclooxygenase-1, reducing thromboxane A2 production and platelet aggregation. Clopidogrel blocks the platelet P2Y12 ADP receptor, further reducing platelet activation. Atorvastatin inhibits HMG-CoA reductase in the liver, decreasing cholesterol synthesis and increasing hepatic removal of LDL from the bloodstream. Together, these effects can reduce both platelet-driven clot formation and elevated cholesterol-related cardiovascular risk.

Precautions & Warnings
- Clavix Gold can cause serious, potentially life-threatening bleeding because it contains both Aspirin and Clopidogrel. Seek immediate medical attention for uncontrolled bleeding, vomiting blood, black or bloody stools, blood in the urine, coughing up blood, sudden severe headache or other signs of major bleeding.
- Atorvastatin can rarely cause serious muscle injury, including rhabdomyolysis. Contact your doctor promptly for unexplained severe muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, especially when accompanied by dark urine or marked fatigue.
- Tell your doctor if you have an active stomach ulcer, previous gastrointestinal bleeding, a bleeding disorder or low platelet levels.
- Inform your doctor about kidney or liver disease before treatment.
- Do not take additional NSAIDs, Aspirin-containing products or other antiplatelet or anticoagulant medicines unless specifically advised.
- Certain medicines can increase the risk of bleeding or alter Atorvastatin or Clopidogrel activity. Tell your doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter products and supplements you use.
- Some medicines can reduce the activation of Clopidogrel and may make it less effective; your doctor should review interacting medicines before treatment.
- Tell your doctor if you have a history of unexplained muscle problems while taking statins.
- Avoid excessive alcohol consumption because it may increase liver-related risk while taking Atorvastatin.
- Atorvastatin should not be used during pregnancy. Tell your doctor immediately if you become pregnant while taking this medicine.
- Breastfeeding is not recommended during Atorvastatin treatment; discuss suitable alternatives with your doctor.
- Tell your doctor before any planned operation or dental procedure because antiplatelet treatment may need specific peri-procedural management.
- Do not stop Clopidogrel or Aspirin abruptly without medical advice, especially when these medicines were prescribed after a coronary intervention.
- Seek urgent medical care after a significant injury, particularly a head injury, while taking this medicine.
