About Travacom Eye Drop

Travacom Eye Drop is a prescription ophthalmic solution used to treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension — conditions caused by increased pressure inside the eye. If left untreated, this pressure can damage the optic nerve and lead to permanent vision loss. Travacom combines two active ingredients that work through different mechanisms to lower eye pressure more effectively than either alone.

Composition

• Travoprost – 40 mcg (0.004%) — a prostaglandin analogue
• Timolol – 5 mg (0.5%) — a beta-blocker

How It Works
Travoprost increases the drainage (outflow) of aqueous humour — the natural fluid inside the eye — reducing pressure buildup. Timolol works differently, decreasing the production of this fluid in the first place. Together, they lower intraocular pressure from both directions, helping protect the optic nerve and preserve vision.

How to Use
Wash your hands before applying. Tilt your head back, gently pull down the lower eyelid, and instil the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye only — avoid letting the dropper tip touch your eye or any surface. Close your eyes gently after application and replace the cap immediately. Typically used once daily, usually in the evening — follow your doctor’s exact instructions. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before use and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.

Safety Information

• For ophthalmic (eye) use only — do not ingest
• Do not use if you have asthma, severe COPD, or other serious breathing problems
• Avoid if you have a slow heartbeat, heart failure, or other heart rhythm issues
• Unsafe during pregnancy — can cause serious harm to the unborn baby; do not use if pregnant or planning pregnancy
• Not recommended while breastfeeding without your doctor’s advice
• Common side effects: burning/stinging, eye redness, blurred vision, foreign-body sensation — usually mild and temporary
• May cause gradual darkening of the eyelid skin, iris, or eyelashes with long-term use — consult your doctor if you notice changes
• May temporarily blur vision — avoid driving immediately after application
• Inform your doctor of any liver, kidney, or other eye conditions (infections, prior eye surgery) before starting
• Wait 5-10 minutes before instilling any other eye medication in the same eye
• Discontinue and seek medical help immediately if you notice severe eye pain/swelling, breathing difficulty, irregular heartbeat, or facial/lip swelling (signs of allergic reaction)

Storage
Store as directed on the label, away from direct sunlight, do not use if the seal is broken before first use, keep out of reach of children.
